Social Wellbeing in 2025
Social wellbeing is central to the wellbeing of individuals and communities. Let’s discuss social wellbeing in 2025.
Social Wellbeing: 2025
In this blog, I often mention the importance of social connectedness to wellbeing. Human beings are connected on many levels. Our social connectedness plays a role in the wellbeing of the individual and in the wellbeing of the community. Even the small talk of casual social interactions can impact our wellbeing.
In 2025, we seem more divided than ever.
I challenge everyone to transcend the dialectic of one group against another group. Look at the commonalities between “us” and “them”. In reality, in the USA in 2025, “us” and “them” equal “US”. We are all in this together so let’s spend some time learning about each other, connecting socially, for social wellbeing.
Let me end with a favourite quote by Martin Luther King Jr, especially relevant today:
“Cowardice asks the question, ‘Is it safe?’ Expediency asks the question, ‘Is it politic?’ Vanity asks the question, ‘Is it popular?’ But, conscience asks the question, ‘Is it right?’ And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but one must take it because one’s conscience tells one that it is right”
