Summary
April 20, 2025, is Easter for all Christians and the last day of Passover. Holidays like these are opportunities to embrace our shared humanity.
Mental Wellbeing During Holidays April 2025
I missed the end of Ramadhan in March 2025. I apologize to all those who ended their fasting with a celebration.
I have chosen to pause the blog post for Easter and Passover. Easter falls on April 20, 2025, for Orthodox Christians and Christians who do not use the lunar calendar as the basis of the liturgical calendar. Passover ends on April 20, 2025.
Let’s take a moment to unite in our love for each other, to recognize our similarities and to embrace our differences. Whether you espouse a spiritual or religious practice or not, I challenge you to reach out to your neighbours to cultivate wellbeing in community. And, if it happens to be a religious occasion for them, ask about their celebrations and learn from them.
Remember, we are all in this together. I mean in this life on earth together. Let’s get along. Let’s prove to the haters of this world, to the dividers and the blamers, to the ungrateful and ungracious, to the greedy and the covetous, to the liars and the thieves, to the power-hungry and the lawless, that the vast majority of us love each other and stand united for justice for all.
HIAS (Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, https://hias.org/passover/ ) reminds us to welcome the stranger, protect the refugee. I refer you to my last post which explored empathy. Our responsibility, as human beings, is to protect the most vulnerable and to remember that if we do not stand for justice to protect each other, there will be no one left to protect us when we are targeted.
Peace to all. Peace is the path to wellbeing.
Of course, music for our wellbeing:
Welcome to the Rock, from the musical “Come From Away”:
United we Stand. Divided we fall.
